Orange County NY's Glenmere Reservoir Lands, comprised of Glenmere Lake and the upper Black Meadow Creek, host NY State's largest and virtually last habitat of the Northern Cricket Frog (Acris crepitans), listed as "Endangered" in NY State.

Glenmere presents one of the largest contiguous wild areas in Orange County, the fastest-growing county in New York State and the Glenmere lands are the most bio-diverse natural feature of Orange County.

The Glenmere lands present a classic paradigm of endangered species habitat elimination despite legislation drafted to "protect" them.
